From the rustic shoreline of Koh Kaeo Yai and the white sand beach of Koh Kaeo Yai to the untouched natural landscape of Koh Hae and the turquoise sea of Koh Bon, these 4 beautiful islands prove that Phuket still has many beautiful islands out there that are still largely unknown to many tourists.

Koh Bon

Koh Bon is a remote island located off the south coast of Phuket. It has recently gained notoriety as a chic destination to find a little peace for locals and expats alike. Amidst rocks and lush vegetation, the island offers two small sandy beaches that are almost untouched. Swimming, snorkeling, and wildlife watching are popular activities on the island.

How to get here: To reach Koh Bon, you will need to rent a long-tail boat from Rawai Beach.

Koh Hae

At Koh Hae, there are countless exciting activities to enjoy. Here, you’re going to spend the day lounging on the white sands of a beach where you can see coral reefs just below the surface of the water if you swim out far enough. This island, located in southern Phuket, is known for its shallow and gentle waters, which make it the ideal snorkeling location. A visit to Koh Hae will provide you with access to a wide range of fun activities, such as paddleboarding, kayaking, banana boating, and parasailing. Hornbills are one of the many species of birds you can find on the island. So, bird lovers will love them here.

How to get here: You can rent a long-tail boat at Chalong Pier or Rawai Beach.

Koh Kaeo Yai

Upon looking at Koh Kaeo Yai from above, it resembles a heart. For snorkeling and kayaking, the island offers several wonderful spots. On the rocky shore, you can see 2  replicas of Buddha’s holy footprint, and there is a beautiful Buddha statue. There is a small beach along the island’s east side where you can go swimming without crowds.

How to get here: Long-tail boats can be rented from Rawai Beach to reach the island.

Koh Lon

Featuring lush rainforests, unspoiled beaches, and a few Homestays, Koh Lon is the perfect getaway for a quick exploration. In a mere 15-minute boat ride from Phuket’s south coast, this secluded island is so close, yet away from the development and the crowds. It’s best to begin your day exploring the untouched landscapes before heading to the beach for a swim or a good book. Once you’re done with the beach, take a boat out to a snorkeling spot. Come and discover the village’s sustainable livelihoods and meet the Muslim villagers.

How to get here: It’s best to rent a long-tail boat at either Chalong Pier or Cape Panwa to reach Koh Lon.
